Developing Abilities

~ Like to hear stories over and over again ~
~ May be able to guess what characters will do next ~
~ Like to write, scribble, and draw ~
~ Like to mimic you and "pretend read" their own books ~
~ Some can remember nursery rhymes and will fill in words or phrases of favorite books ~

To Do for Parents

~ Make reading and writing a part of your toddler's day every day ~
~ Reading exercises your toddler's imagination more than the TV ~
~ Buy books whenever possible -- at yard sales or library book sales ~
